Subject: Angel~ Pit Bull
Here's the scoop..
Angel is a year old or so old,, I'll find out exactly.
She is white with a couple of brown markings.. she looks like Petey on the Little Rascals.
She is an absolute doll baby… great with people and was great with other animals.. she lives on a farm with chickens, cats and 5 other dogs.
She absolutely melts at your feet, and just loves to be loved.
About 2 months ago she was fixed…. After that, Heidi, the owner said she started to get a little nippy with the other dogs. She also runs a grooming service out of her house, which there is constantly goings on….
When Heidi's son brought her home, she was about 3 months old…she coward a lot… she sees you, and she would get down and scoot over to you,, but then she is fine once she knows you… she stopped doing all of that a couple of months before she was fixed,,, and now, a little here and there, she does it again…
I know from stopping at my Mom and Dads, that some of Heidi's other dogs use to pick on her,, rough playing, whatever,,,but Angel was timid and would just roll over and show her belly.. I think after she got fixed,, she just had enough…. She is now over a year,, and she just wants to be left a lone… she is very mellow but loves to be around people.. she comes flying up the yard when she sees people.. when I pull in at Mom and Dads, she comes flying up and follows me right into the house,, and stays at my feet.
She is over my Mom and Dads every day.. My dad gives all of the dogs treats in the morning, and she is fine with them… she pretty much hangs out at Mom and Dads most of the day.. Heidi just told me that she is now starting to be food territorial with the other animals.. another thing I think is from them pushing her out of the way for so long,, no she is bigger, and she is tired of it.
The other day Heidi had a client come in, and she said that Angel got down like she was scooting and lunged at the dog,,, bit his leg as her client scooped the dog up.
Heidi said that Angel's teeth clatter and she gets nervous and that's when you know she is going to bite.. I think its just sooooo much going on in that household, and now Angel wants some quiet.
I don't know what to say… I have had interaction with this dog since they got her.. I see her every weekend, and sometimes I even bring my dogs over and she is great with them.. the only one I had a problem with, was with my dog Sasha, also a female and that was because I opened the door and she saw her standing there,, and was being protective of her territory and went after her.. Angel was again submissive.. but biting to protect herself. I said stop, and they stopped.
She is now permanently wearing a muzzle and they are trying to find her a good home.. the only thing I don't like is that they are advertising in the paper FREE Pit Bull to good home….. I don't like that…
If anyone knows anyone who would love to have her,, as an only pet, in a fenced yard, or only brought out on walks with a leash,, please let me know.. thanks
