Sonia, I am thinking about it. I just have so much S*it going on with my Aunt staying with me. But this has been a passion thought over the past year to help. I am curious about How would I see if lets say Angel for example would do well with Rocky. Would we be able to intro them first?

we could do a hike and bring the dogs so that this way you can see if they both get along.. maybe do a hike at a halfway point at a nice park? (also an excuse for us all to get together lol)

If your a foster..... You provide love I got you covered with food, crate, vet care, leashes collars, bowls.... If you have a problem, I would like her to see our vet, but if it is something like an emergency, I do not care as long as she seeks medical attention as needed.... She is fully veted at this point. You also would have to be able to bring her towards this way when someone is interested in her....

Well thats all pretty reasonable. If someone is interested in her is it possible for a halfway point or would I always have to make the whole 2 hr trip?

Also can you tell me a little more about her (Angel's)personality. Like how is she with other dogs. Is she pushy or is she more submissive. Does she like chest barreling play or a good game of chase and keep away. Is she living in a home now or shelter environment? anything else you can tell me about her. Oh how is her recovery from being hit by the car?

TIME OUT!!! OK I have been having a great week.. Two dogs are in homes trying the weekend, to see how things go. AND Someone e-mailed me today about Angel. They lost their pit bull to cancer two years ago, and are now ready, and they came across Angel... SO we will see how that goes.... Polly has played well with other dogs, she is a little rough and tumble. LOL FULL of energy. She can be mouthy when she gets excited but our trainer is working with her. She knows her basic obedience very well, and is still improving with each session. Polly was adopted, but the people then turned around saying they didnt want her after over 6 months because she chases the cats. I was told before the adoption that they were going to keep the cats separated because they really wanted this dog. (long story friend of a friend). But anyway they are holding onto her until a home is found. The trainer works with her weekly, but the families mother and law moved in, and hates pit bulls so she keeps her in the crate all day I need to get her out of there ASAP if ANYONE has any ideas! Wouldnt do great with smaller children because of the mouthing...

OH thats great news. I like that you let people try the weekend to see how things go. Good luck Angel! Keep me up to date on her as I found something special in her. When u say mouthy. Is she mouthy with the people or the dogs. I can handle mouthy with people Rocky can be a little bit of a mouth boy. But he does not like mouthy play with dogs. He likes rough body slam play. and a good game of steal and chase. but gets a little submissive and will start to try to hide from a bitey face pup. I think Rocky would do well with a dog that is his size and likes to run and chase but also lay around a few hours in the sun. Carefree. Although I know with a pit bull males are not good idea and I plan to foster a female in case I intend to keep her. I think Rocky would do fine with a male dog similar in his temperment. Or a female that is not your typical bossy bitch. But I would consider a male if he is very much like Rocky. In fact I do prefer male dogs. I think. I am the only girl in the house though so I could enjoy spoiling my girlfriend.

We will see. I asked those people to fill out an application for Angel first before we continued chatting Heard nothing back... Polly, well she is just mouthy with people, I think it is because she has so much energy and wants to run and play, and her people are idiots.. (sad but true). I think she would enjoy another dog to romp with. Lets see what I find out this weekend about Angel (if they apply or not).

I can chime in about Polly's mouthiness (I've been working with her) she has gotten 110% better since I started working with her back in January. It used to be as soon as you walked in the door she would start jumping and mouthing, now she just jumps. The last session I was there we worked on door manners. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get back to see her in about a month...they keep canceling on me :-[ Normally I use the yelp/yip method when dogs mouth, but for Polly it just wasn't working, she would get more excited about it. I ended up having to use spray bitter apple (water didn't work either) but it worked for her.
She is a brilliant dog! She picked up on everything instantly!! She has the most enthusiastic down I have seen in my life!! I am fairly confident that my once a week sessions with her were some of the only training she got, and since it has been a while she would probably need a refresher course. I know that when she is in a home where someone is willing to work with her on a daily basis she would be one of the most well behaved pitties around!
