Subject: Faith's Hope -- We Need Your Help
In 7 years of doing rescue, I have never sent out a "general" plea for help. I have done a few fundraisers for those very special cases that required care above and beyond the typical rescue. Cases like Monty, REM and Yoshi. As most of you know, Faith's Hope more often than not takes some tough cases, dogs with extensive medical issues that require a great deal of expense. And of course there are the pit bulls and pit bull mixes which are a "special needs" population in that it takes so long to find them homes that just their "normal" care can run into some serious money. Up until now, I have covered the shortfalls out of my own pocket. But rescue is a very expensive hobby and given the current situation we all find ourselves in, I can no longer continue to do this. Things have never been so difficult in rescue, there are more animals needing help than I have ever seen. The numbers are just staggering. And there are fewer people than ever looking to adopt, especially the kinds of dogs I usually take into my rescue.
I have a few pit bulls/pit bull mixes in my rescue that have been looking for homes for well over a year. Monty is still in foster care, he and his foster parents, Donna and Rick, have been patiently waiting for a forever home for over a year now. Luther has been in my care for almost 3 years and there is no end in sight for him. I have a couple of senior small dogs that will probably be very difficult to place. I cannot even find foster homes these days, not even for the "easy" cases.
We are all having a difficult time, not a day goes by that I don't find a plea or two in my inbox from other rescuers who are in desperate need of help. And my inbox is bursting at the seams with pleas from shelters, from "good Samaritans" who find dogs they don't want to take to the shelter, from owners who can no longer keep their dogs for one reason or another. Everyone wants to help these animals, we all want them to find happy endings. I just cannot continue to find happy endings for these animals without some help and support.
I know everyone is really struggling right now and I know everyone is making sacrifices to get by during these tough times but if any of you have $10 or even $5 to spare, I (and the dogs in my care) would greatly appreciate it. You can either:
1. Send your donation directly to my vet to help me cover my outstanding balance. You can either mail a check (made payable to Rockledge Veterinary Clinic, MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE A NOTE SAYING IT IS FOR THE FAITH'S HOPE RESCUE ACCOUNT). Or you can contact them via phone and make a donation with a credit/debit card payment.

3. Send a check made payable to Faith's Hope rescue to: Faith's Hope, P. O. Box 45826, Philadelphia, PA 19149
And PLEASE keep the dogs under my care in mind in case you hear of anyone looking to adopt. Many of them have been waiting for a very long time and they really need to find homes!
