Also, last night I saw 'ABCs of Death'. Some were bad, some were really good, and some I had to leave the room because it was just too much for me to deal with (Jason let me know when it was safe to come back). FYI, there are like two that I know off the top of my head that deal with animal cruelty. I can't tell you how bad because once I realized the direction it was going in I left the room. There is also one that deals with child abuse (not explicitly shown but obviously implied...left for that one too). Each short movie is like maybe 7-8 minutes long? Total was about 2hrs and 15 minutes I think.
I guess if you have a strong stomach (I don't always, lol).

World War Z...to see or not to see? I LOVED the book, but the script that was greenlighted doesn't look anything like the book. Maybe if I convince myself it is just another zombie flick and NOT World War Z I can enjoy it. :/ Yeah, I'm going in with no expectations of it bearing any resemblance to the book.

Suzi, I'm just pissy because their first script was exactly like the book!! Interviews and flashbacks and everything...but the money-men didn't think it had enough action.
I'm going to watch it (being a huge zombie nerd and all), but I have to remind myself it won't be like the book so I don't get too angry, lol.

I was psyched about WWZ, but now I don't know, since I haven't heard such good things about it.
Watching VHS 2 this weekend, it's On Demand! Can't wait.

Saw The Purge. Wasn't bad. More creepy thriller type than horror. I liked it, just thought it could have been a little better. But was pretty well done and just made you think "seriously future-America, WTF?!?" lol

^I wanna see The Purge, but I've heard so-so things about it. I'll still see it, though. I saw The Internship over the weekend which was really cute and put me in a good mood.
Also, last weekend we watched V/H/S 2 and I was soooooooo disappointed. Not original, and way way way too bloody. I mean, pregnancy might have me more squeamish than usual, but it was just....gross and unnecessary gore.

World War Z...what did you do?!?!?!
OMG...why?!?!?!?
Ok, now that that is out of my system. It really is NOTHING like the book, and the first 2/3 of it isn't terrible by zombie movie standards, but the last 1/3 just got stupid beyond words. I mean really just...OMG why?!?!?!?!?

Watched "Happy People: A Year in the Taiga" last night on netflix and thought it was awesome. A documentary about life in the Siberian Taiga. Spent a good bit time focusing on the relationship of these people with their working dogs which was fascinating. If you are drawn to the notion of being self sufficient and living a remote and simple life; it's worth watching.

Recent movies I've freaking LOVED:
Pacific Rim - silly premise but very well done and lots of fun (actually worth it in 3D!)
The Conjuring - Spooky as heck, not a ton of gore but unsettling and creepy.
I would see both again
very excited for Insidious 2 to come out already!

Go watch GUardians of the Galaxy right now! YOu DON'T have to know anything about the comics or any comics at all to enjoy the heck out of this movie!

Go watch GUardians of the Galaxy right now! YOu DON'T have to know anything about the comics or any comics at all to enjoy the heck out of this movie! We splurged to see it in IMAX 3D last Friday. So much fun!!! I think it's one of the best comic adaptations I've seen, in that it felt like I was watching a comic come to life. It didn't take itself too seriously and was just a really good time.

The Babadook. Really worthwhile thriller/horror movie. Pay attention or you'll miss the clues! Not going to lie, after that movie at night you kinda feel jumpy in the dark
