Is it better for socialization for our dogs to meet other neighborhood dogs or just stay away if there is a concern? Would it be better for them to be familiar with eachother or is that risky?

From the research I have done, they should be taught to be manageable around each other, working with desensitization and training until they can be in close quarters without issues. Direct interaction is above and beyond, and not necessary.

I definetly think you should try to get them used to each other but if one of them if too aggressive than I wouldnt push it! But over all, I agree with valliesong

people in the neighborhood think it's best to hide them from eachother =( I worry that this will create a dangerous situation if two get loose!

I live on an acreage so i dont really have neighbors but when we take Boomer to town to visit my boyfriends parents a lot of the neighbors have to come say hi to him! They all love him! Especially this elderly couple that are right across the road, She always says that after Boomer gets done licking her hands she wouldnt even have to wash them because they look so clean!

SOCILIAZING a pitbull or any breed is very important as one of the main ingredients in a responsible owners training itinary.......it teaches the dogs to respect each other, dogs and most importantly humans.....without socilization a dog will utimately suffer fear and aggression
