My tyson is very food motivated but not food aggressive, when treats, or toys enter the picture he defers to my smaller female puppy of another mix, she was here first and he seems to be ok with what she says- has he chosen his role or will he change as he becomes more comfortable? He is kenneled when I cant watch him but she is not does that pose a problem? Is it ok to let them play tug with each other or will it lead to aggression, if I try to tug with them they just let go!! I adopted him with no real history can anyone tell what his mix might be??

Keep in mind that any "high value" items such as toys, treats, bones can be potential fight triggers.

Except for color, Tyson looks really similar to my Benny right down to which ear is up and which ear is flopped. Benny was an APBT mixed with a Traditional/Bone Mouth Shar Pei ( upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a3/Shar-Pei_bone_mouth.JPG ) I don't know if I see any Shar Pei in Tyson, though. He looks to be mostly pit. He is beautiful whatever his mix is!

Tyson is very cute, reminds me of Benny a LOT, also my friend's PitX who we think is mixed with GSD. I'd say Tyson is a Pit Bull Mix.
As a rule of thumb, I say do not let dogs play games that are likely to lead to arousal, i.e. tug with each other. BUT you must know your dogs and what they can handle. Some dogs can play rough with each other, and give themselves time outs when things start to get heated. Other dogs get ramped up to the point they cannot control themselves and ramp up QUICKLY and those are the dogs that I would completely keep from playing rough together. A lot of dogs fall in the middle and can do ok with a little roughhousing but need a human there to force time outs or stop play when it looks like things are going overboard.
How old is your puppy? How long have you had Tyson? Most likely, the dynamic between a newly adopted dog and a puppy will change/evolve as time goes on. I would NOT leave toys/food/treats laying around without you being right there to control them, and I would not leave one dog crated with another dog loose in the same room. Close the puppy off in another area of the house.

Castina, when I first saw Tyson pics I thought to myself "Wow, he looks just like Cast's Benny!".
Dogs attitudes towards things can be very changing. One day they can be playing fine and the next they can escalate it to something more. Especially if he has any type of dog-sensitive breed in him. Totally agree with Mary aka RealPitbull

Tyson and Daisy are 10mo and 9mo, respectively. What one has the other has of their own and I never leave them unattended! They are great together, except when one breaks a rule the others right their to back them up- just like kids lol Thank you so much for your input, I've already learned alot about my pups.....sad to say I too was alittle concerned with the bad breed rap- I'm so glad I went with my heart not the jacked statistics!!!!! Thank you again!
