This is Tiki. The shelter believes she's a 2 year old Lab mix. Just wanted to see what you guys thought her mix was.
She's a great dog, already knows her basic commands (sit, down, come, stay, shake), already crate and potty trained, she wont jump on furniture without your permission to do so, and she's doing great things for Aida and Bruiser!
She's been here since Saturday night and already Aida is learning to play with other dogs (she's not aggressive at all, she just usually wants to play with her toys or water instead) and Bruiser is learning great doggy manners (He's learned to back off when she's had enough, how to greet appropriately, and he's learning to read other body language all around). It's helping these 2 tremendously and it's a safe way for them to get interaction.
I have 3 problems with Tiki though, they could potentially start a fight when she gets adopted if I cant figure out how to work with them.
1. She doesn't mind playing with other dogs at all, but like if Aida and Bruiser start playing she gets upset and will try to break it up (only done this once since Saturday and that was the last time).
2. She doesn't like when other dogs are running around by her when she's laying down. Aida was chasing a ball yesterday and Tiki tried to bite her leg as she went by.
3. Tiki is very protective of her crate. If Aid or Bruise walk by it with her in it she growls, bares her teeth and would possibly lunge at them. (this only happens when she is in the crate with the door shut, she has absolutely no problem with it if the door is open and she's even allowed them to go inside and smell it without a problem)
If you guys have any suggestions that'd be great! Thanks!
