www.fosters.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20101129/GJCOMMUNITY_01/101129623The Animal Welfare Society is a private non-profit humane society funded through the generosity of local communities. Below are upcoming events for the shelter: Thursday, December 2 - Join "SOMEpit", Southern Maine Pitbull Advocates, at the Animal Welfare Society on Holland Road, West Kennebunk to learn more about this misunderstood breed. Pitbull 101 is an opportunity for people (no dogs please) to share the facts and fiction associated with these dogs.

The Animal Welfare Society is the shelter that put Benny down when I decided not to adopt him, even after I offered to continue fostering him and then offered to transport him to a no kill shelter that was willing to take him in if he was in danger of being euthanized. SOME Pit is the organization that contacted AWS and found out Benny's fate for me after 6 months of me trying to get answers from them. SOME Pit is a great organization, but AWS is not. Needless to say, I will not be in attendance if it benefits AWS.

No problem. SOME Pit is a great organization, though. So I'm glad to see that their events are being posted.
