still doing research for a pet care program I will be doing in the future at the library and with challenged adults. Came across this article and would like to share it. I once cut Rocky's nails too short making him more nervous about getting his nails done. I now dremel does not hurt as much but since he broke his rear nail he is not able to sit still. I will probably have to do some sessions like this for a while before I can get his nails done. www.bestfriends.org/theanimals/pdfs/dogs/joysoftouch.pdf

Is that like one of those pedipaws things? KINDA but not really. Pedipaws is a gimmicky, non electrical grooming tool. Dremels are electric and do a really good job at keeping nails smooth and short.

Yes dremel way better however it can take longer to get them use to using it and it also does take longer to actually do the nails. Clipping can be quicker but if you clip too low they never forget. I have never gone too low with the dremel. The reason it takes longer is he pulls away and I have to take a break. I take a break if I think the dremel is getting hot. and a clip is a clip, dremel is on longer than clippers. I originally had a cordless but the battery died out after 2 yrs so now I use a corded one. I cant speak for pedipaws never used it but heard it is not powerful enough. There is a guard out there for a dremel to do dog nails. I am considering getting one cause Rocky the smart A** has learned if he starts to put his nose near it I will pull away.

Luca is really good at having his nails clipped. He is petrified beyond all belief of the dremel so I don't use it on him. It is the only thing he's ever been scared of.
