need some input/advice on what to or what not to do in starting to jog with Jackie.
Right now she's horrendous on a normal collar and somewhat ok on an ez walk.
The harnesses state that they are for walking only and recommend use of a regular collar for jogging/running.
Will i mess up her progress walking on the ex walk if i start to take her out on the regular collar to jog with me?
Any specific way to teach her for jogging, to trot nicely?

Hmmmm never thought of it. But my son has taken Rocky Running on his sensation harness problem is Rocky stops short when he wants to go a different way when he is in harness. With martingale collar he does not do it so much because he does not like the tightening. I have found him to walk better on his martingale when taking a serious fast walk with my friend and her dog. Also because the harness can rub him raw when on a good walk. I would suggest try jogging with martingale collar. and the harness on too so you can switch if you need too. She probably wont be horrendous as she has to keep up with you. You can also clip into both harness and collar. Sometimes I just carry the harness in case I need it. putting some mole skin on it helps with the rubbing. Rocky has also ran along bike using his sensation harness. I was afraid he could get choked, attached to biker using regular collar. I have thought of investing in a bike tether thing but I have to get myself a bike first. My son is real good on his bike. and can hold leash while biking.

My Father-in-law runs 6-10 miles 3 times a week with his Pittbull. Well, not this time of year cause it's too cold for her. Anyhow, he uses a regular leather lead with her regular collar, and she runs fine.
When he first started she would try to out run him, but she quickly learned to run next to him. She actually gets excited when he she sees him in his running gear, she's all about it!

I was thinking of this b/c i cycle too..and it would be a quick way to burn some energy off of her...b/c i am a very slow jogger at this point.

Rocky just took right to the bike. A little nervous at times that he will get hit or the bike might fall but once going he is fine. She will love the bike. There are some bike attachments that seem better than others. First check this out dog powered we dont have to do anything but defeats purpose looks fun anyway
anyway I believe this is the one I was interested in was walkydog and holy moly it is cheap on amazon. with free shipping.

I tried jogging with Benny a couple of times, but he would always get in front of me and trip me I think it's because he was a bit nervous sometimes and he liked to be close to me. A little too close! I'm sure if I was able to keep working on him, he would have gotten better. I think jogging or riding a bike with a dog is a great way to get out extra energy in less time.

That's how Madison was at first, she ran in front and played like she was being chased. She started to run normal after a week. He did ween her into distance though, he started her with 1 mile. He said by the time she was up to 3 miles, she was too tired to run in front, and focused on keeping pace with my Father in law. He was really suprised that after 6 months she was able to run a full 10k (6.2 miles) nonstop with him. Pretty cool! I tried jogging with Benny a couple of times, but he would always get in front of me and trip me I think it's because he was a bit nervous sometimes and he liked to be close to me. I'm slow as the dickens as a runner, but by golly I do try. At this point, I run an 11-12min mile, but I've gotten Andrew to the point now where he will run beside me with his regular collar. When I used his harness he would pull me every which way. Also, when I need a break, I have gotten him used to hearing "walk" as notice that I need to slow down. Andrew LOVES running with me when the weather isn't so cold!
As for starting him on jogging, one day on a walk I just decided to try upping the pace to a light jog for a very short period of time (less than 5 mins) and then slowly increased the time.
