I heard about dogs eating ornaments and have been following Hector the Pit Bull on facebook who just chewed a wood ornament to shreds. So I would like to share a few of my creative ideas.
1st year we had Rocky I used same trick I used when one of my kids was a baby after the baby broke an ornament in his hand. Instead of investing in an xpen unless you have one although I still would not want in my living room around my tree so... I got large boxes or stack boxes and tape together weighed down with bricks. On the bottom so they don't break a toe. Wrap em up to look pretty.
Then I discovered if I just make the tree fall before I decorate it, Rocky has little interest in messing with the big bad tree. LOL that has been the best deterrent. Also I try to avoid any glass being in his reach. Or any favorites or anything I plan to keep a lifetime.

Ah, the determination of a pit bull. Way way way too cute.
I haven't attempted a christmas tree. Mainly because the cats are a pain in the butt around them!

When I was a kid we always had trees and cats. Tree crashed a few times so dogs went no where near it. After loss of several glass ornaments my mom put the glass in storage and had to buy a new supply of non glass. Also had to tie the tree up. I was tying my tree up too but last two years I have not. I am serious that I showed Rocky the tree falls if you try to pull an ornament. When he was under two he had no fears but once the wind blew the front door open and a baby gate fell that was it. Anything falls he respects it.

I used to tie my tree as well around the cats. They could careless if it falls, they just want to sit in it like tards. I'll have to do one next year for my granddaughters first "real" christmas. She's only 6 weeks old now so it's no biggie!
