I have used these methods. Especially the leave it. I am going to have to start over. Now that Rocky broke his nail he pulls away for just touching his paws. He flinches like he is anticipating pain. I was actually able to dremel a bit of his broken nail today using the leave it and hiding his paw with a towel. I forgot about using the clicker. So glad I found this today to remind me what I can use my clicker for.

Yeah me too. Thats funny. But I am impressed that such a young guy is putting so much work into this. I think his eyes look weird because of the camera position. It is kind of close like he is looking into a laptop web cam.

Let me tell you all that I was able to dremel the broken nail this morning by using clicker. It was amazing. I should have taken before and after pics of the broken nail and video the dremel session. I do use an extension on the dremel which has made it much easier. I am lucky my husband has this great kit. I am able to hang the dremel with the motor on a chair and makes it easier to hold clicker and dremel wand at same time. I will try to video next session if I can.

did you buy a special bit for the Dremel? if so, links would be great.
doesn't his nail get hot from the friction?

I give it a break I turn it off between each nail. I am not sure which bit we use but it comes with the dremel. Its like sand paper wheel. I will ask my husband. I do not recommend the cordless to much cause the battery did not last and when it slows up that hurts him. There is never any bleeding. I think the dust cauterizes if you go to low. His nail does not get hot but what I do is shut it off and feel to see if it is hot. When you first start out and it takes alot longer just do one paw at a time this way it does not get too hot. I will admit at times clipping is much faster but I can tell it is painful he has actually cried when he sees the clipper. So I prefer to dremel even though it takes more time especially to train. Rocky is a bit fearful but he tolerates the dremel. When it comes out he will actually come running over. Not because he enjoys it but because he thinks it is a treat dispenser. I have to look to see if we actually have dremel brand or not. But the kit came with this type of flexible shaft which I love for doing nails. www.amazon.com/Papa-Johns-Toolbox-Flexible-Shaft/dp/B0009V36WE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1295132735&sr=8-3

Thanks. From what you mentioned sounds like a sanding drum.
