How do I stop the nipping when he is playing. I tell him no then give him his toy, but sometimes he just seems much more interested in my hand and fingers. All suggestions welcomed...

What I've been told is to make a yelping noise, or like a higher pitched ouch. I don't know if this is accurate or effective, I never went through this with Bruiser and Aida just never really nipped.
Another thing I've been told is to stop play time when puppy nips, just get up and walk away for a couple mins... but once again I'm unsure if this is accurate or effective.

Yes it is effective in fact Rocky is 5 now and still works. He even yelped at me when I would not let go of his paw when he had nail injured. He tried mouthing first then yelped. I let go. Yelp and walk away.

Here is video with more ideas. Actually found this last night when I found nail clipping using clicker training.
