I'm sitting here browsing the boards, and Cleveland is next to me, staring at me. He's started to whine a bit.... then do his "talk" thing at me. I have yet to look over at him or say anything to him. He was outside an hour ago, he had his nightly treat, and some attention... But he's really chewin' me out! My daughter is in the other room laughing. Guess I will go try and figure out what he wants... after I walk away from him.

It was all in the name of attention.
Getting to know this dog is fun. He has a super personality.

Cleveland is a 2-3 yr old boy, not much pup left in him I guess. He's really smart and came to me already well mannered. His prior owner typed up a list of his habits, likes and dislikes. I read it again the other night and on it he states that Cleveland will whine if you don't pet him. I'm learning to ignore it more often then I give in to it.... kind of like you would do with a child!

I dont remember if you stated this already but why did previous owner give him up? I go back and read Rocky's turn in papers every so often.

It's good that they wrote that up for you. Seems like they really did care. Like CA, I'm also curious why they gave him up. It's obviously not a behavior issue!

I love dog-talk! Sometimes I joke with Chubs when he is having a bit of a tantrum (he likes to stomp his front legs and if he still doesn't get what he wants he kicks out his back legs like a donkey) I always tell him "Use your words" and sometimes he'll doggie-talk in my direction. Gets me every time Cleveland sounds like a great pup!!

His previous owner adopted him last June, and he says now that he should have given it more thought. This fall his wife went back to college, and she just found out they were pregnant with their second child. They also have a 9 yr old pit bull. He works over night, and his wife works and has classes during the day. That left little time for Cleveland. I also think Cleveland was too much for the older dog. Cleveland was very well taken care of, and his owner was really interested in how we choose homes for the pit bulls.
