A video my dad posted on FB. Even though I dont participate in Agility I still got it in the end. Although I dont know the terms and people, but you all who do Agility will get it.
Dog and Handler look and sound like alien robots but the dog is so cute I want to take him home. LOL

too funny. Right now Jackie & I are doing agility for fun and relationship building and i'd like to keep it that way. Got a little further through Control Unleashed yesterday and it opened my eyes a bit about how people push they're dogs and the fun goes away.
thanks for sharing!

I have been thinking about doing agility for fun. WIsh I had already though. ROcky has trouble now with dogs running off lead while he is on lead. So either it will be good for him or too stressful.

WHat sort of probs? Jackie vocalizes when other dogs are in training classess, but Knock on wood, through this and other relaxation & desnsitization training, Jackie is changing.
Lately she is changing this for that, in good & bad things she is picking up.
Now her off lead with the other 2 dogs in class, i'll let u know about next week. I'm sure that'll be her first item of interest.
Fingers crossed and we'll see how it goes.

Problems are as such. He was fine prior I could take him to agility shows and he would sit and watch. But after his second time being jumped by off lead dog while he is on lead I think he does not like when off lead dogs. He barks like crazy and it is loud and mad sounding. He starts lunging forward like he wants to be in the game. He did this once while my dad was practicing here. I had to put him on lead because he was jumping with her and someone would get hurt. Soon as I put the leash on him I had trouble. Also I once took him to a frisbee thing and had to take him way to the back where he could not see the dog running.

So this sounds like Jackie in general ;-). People or other dogs around. I just keep with the click for attention/eye contact and have been working with it since the 2nd week we got here. It's been slow but it seems the more i do this the better it gets. i just hope i'm not overloading her. We'll see how it goes.

Very funny & true... But a little disturbing as well...lol If dogs could speak All kai would say is 'feed me & Throw the ball..am sleeping now'I like to watch dog agility shows..Think all dogs who do the track are winners...yet I hate show-jumping...go figure

I want to get Keona into agility. She loves doing all the obstacles and has plenty of energy. I need to find a group around here soon.

Yeah I thought I would do it too but too much commitment for me with my family. Unless whole family is interested in being involved. For my dad its perfect. just him and his dogs. I suppose it can be done just for fun. Had my dad lived a little closer I would have done it just for fun. Rocky took right too it when a pup. It is hard to find clubs near you so if you have one thats great get involved. Most people in my dads club travel from all over. Then once very involved like him he does not go to club near by he travels to go to one he likes. Different learning styles like described in video. Here is a photo of Rocky about 8 months old fearless on the sea saw. Not so sure he would be so fearless today. This was his first time on agility equipment.

Cool pic. I have a large facility 15 mins from my house. We're doing it for fun now and i hope to keep it that way. I dont have time or desire for things that turn from fun into a burden

I'm getting ready to go to pre-agility classes and the trainer does some agility with her dogs, so she will know the groups around the area. If all else fails I'll just start a meetup group for fun agility. That's all I really want to do anyway.
I have no desire to compete. I am not a competitive person and don't expect my dog to be either.
