My friend just told me that the author of this article is actually an aversive trainer and doesn't "believe in" clicker training or learning theory (WTF? It's not religion.) Anyway, just goes to show you can find tidbits of legit info from just about anywhere. But actually some of this guy's other stuff is pretty out there.

This is a good, positive article on the subject. I'm still learning so much about dog behavior but have always questioned some of Cesar's techniques. This article shows his "rules" can be good when practical- yes I get out of the truck first so you don't hang yourself or drag me out of the seat or No you cannot eat our pet rat because I said so...but intimidation isn't needed. With the belly up pose...a dog will do that willingly when they trust you and want a nice rub. You don't want to force it, jeez
