My roommate’s dog is very aggressive towards me. He as an American Pit Bull and I cannot figure why the dog doesn't like me. I have never been mean to it, I give it treats, I pet it, but every now and then it snaps and starts growling and barking at me. He has never really attacked me or anything, but I can sense he might. He is a very big dog, probably 70-80 lbs. When I come home for the first time it always acts like he has never seen never seen me before or something. He has never really hurt me, except for once when i was petting at me he lunged at my forehed, not to bite, but like to punch with his head. sometimes he loes me thoguh, whenever I come home from the bars, he is all over me, little alcoholic dog. He wants me to pet him and cuddle with him. some days he will let me pet him, others he is mean. He is actually my roommate’s boyfriend’s dog and the second he met my roommate, the dog loved him. My roommate never had a problem with the dog; I don't get it, why does the dog hate me. What do I have to do to get it to like me? By the way, they keep the dog in a crate when they aren't home, and when they are not there I am not allowed to take the dog out of the crate. If I this cannot be resolved I am afraid of what could happen to the dog, I obviously don’t want it to attack me, but that would not be good for the dog. He would have to be removed from the house and the only place for him to go would be the rescue, where he could be potentially put down, I would not want that to happen. Or he might get hurt when I defend myself, I am afraid I would hurt the dog. I know I can take the dog down due to the training I’ve had, but i don't want to. Please, Please help me before something bad happens .
I know I could take it to a trainer and they could help, but it is not my dog and I cannot afford to pay to take it, I personally don't have a dog because my lifestyle and hours are not condusive towards it and I cannot afford one. I know my roommate and my boyfriend are not willing to pay for it, they are cheap, and I don't think they can afford it either.
