No she didn't eat anybody this time. I was at the reservation and some kids ahead of us left a gate open. Ophie wandered ahead into the open walkway and in a normal voice I just said "Hey wait". She pancaked on the ground like " No Mommy don't beat me again!". I've seen her do that once before, just a certain tone of voice or just a sudden fear instinct? But then you've got a sixty pound baby to lug off the ground and ease to the car. Poor Pookins.

Lucy does this a lot and at really random times and it is so embarassing. But she is just an overly sensitive dog and gets in moods. Is that the way your dog is?
Sometimes I can say the same thing in the same way and she will look at me all sassy like she doesn't need to listen to a word I say. Sometimes she will cower and come right back. Sometimes she will just freeze. I never know how she will react. I do talk to my dog harshly but that is because sterness is the only thing that has worked with her. I can't even use gentle force I can only use my voice. I know for a fact that she hasn't been abused because I have had her since 8 weeks old. Some dogs are just like that (probably due to poor breeding.)

Yup Lulu even has Ophie's expression awwww. Guess they're just sensitive doggies. I don't know anything about Ophies background except they found her wandering in Newark. She trembles when we walk sometimes, sirens don't faze her, just things she imagines I guess. She's gotten better with fireworks. Hears those in somebody's yard and she tells the people off.

Benny, the APBT mix I fostered a couple of years ago, used to do this. He once was pulling really hard and tugged the leash out of my hand, he got a few feet and I send "Benny, STAY!!" He stopped dead and cowered as though I had been beating him in the past. The worst part was the looks that people shot me.
