Scenario: Small gathering BBQ for the hubby's graduation from massage therapy school. A few of his friends from school that I've never met before come. One of the guests wife picked up our 10 week old pup and started playing "bitey face" with her (She literally was exchanging play face bites back and forth with the pup). I caught this scenario coming through the back door and almost dropped the food I just grilled on the floor. I very politely asked her to please stop IMMEDIATELY because we don't allow that behavior, nor ANY biting play out of either pit with humans. She actually had the "nuts" to look at me and say dismissively "OH, I play this game all the time with my pit at home." So, I took the pup from her, who of course was still in play mode, and she tried nipping at me... which resulted in me holding on to her muzzle and giving that low "you better behave growl" (to the dog, although the human could have used a muzzle clamp and growl too!). All I could do was shake my head.....

I can't stand when people try to tell you what they are "allowed" to do to your dog, even when you've very plainly just stated PLEASE DON'T DO THAT! Arghhhh!!!!

You mean I can't tell you how to badly raise your dog? Preposterous!

People are so rude. We have had company come over and think it's ok to play tug with our dogs and get them all hyper. When I remove the dog's from the situation people think I'm crazy. Oh, well!

If they're at your house you're kind of stuck with the "guest". But if someone starts trying to rough play with Ophie I get away fast. Perhaps muttering about how she gets funny sometimes and well, we don't want that to happen...

I'm thinking for the next get together we have..... all humans will be outfitted with a shock collar, and zapped for innapropriate behavior. I was stunned though. All I could think was "With all the bad rap these poor dogs get... why are you promoting face biting behavior with humans?"

people are annoying. My boss thinks it is okay to encourage jake to jump up on her. hello... he is 60 lbs and I am pregnant. Now he has been doing it to me. She acts like I am being a big jerk when I tell him no too.

Kudos to you for taking your dog from her! That was completely disrespectful of her to even comment after you told her you don't allow that kind of play! Your dog, your house, your rules.......she doens't like it, don't come back!
