I hung a bell from my front door knob.
Every time we go out I jingle it, and say outside and potty in a fun excited voice.
Scarlett will touch it...sometimes. On her own she has done it twice and we've let her out right then and there.
the other times she has 'rang' it is always when I have stepped outside to leave, or whatever.
She goes nuts on the bell! So I am pretty certain she is catching the hang of what it is for.
I just wish I could get her to do it consistently. I watch her for the 'sniff of business' and I will get all excited and put emphasis on outside and potty. When she goes potty/poop outside I celebrate by getting excited and saying good potty outside, good poop outside! In the hopes that she associates those words with the bell and the business and outside lol.
We are on a schedule, and I take her out if she's looking for a spot or has woken from a nap.
Not sure what else I can do to cut down on the random barely tinkle squatting. Rhett is doing way better these days with the leg lift, and if I pay attention to him I can tell when he has to go outside.
Winston rarely ever has accidents in the house.
However....
He pee'd on my bed over a year ago. No idea why, but I was pretty certain it was him. (too big of a puddle for the pug to have done, and the other dogs urine had a distinct smell compared to winnies)
Recently he has done it three times since bringing puppy home.
The last time was the other day.
I went to trim Rhetts toenails and Winston bolted from the room and hid in my bedroom.
Later I went to get ready for bed and noticed the giant spot.
The two times before I can't figure out what might have triggered it.
I don't know why he is doing this now.
He gets the same level of spoiled as always. So not sure what the deal is.
Rhett is doing pretty good. He didn't go hide when people came over yesterday. He just sat at my side the entire time. He plays a lot more and seems happier now that the puppy is here.
Scarlett and her teeth are still sharp, but we are feeling them less often. Rhett is her play toy, and she follows Winston around everywhere outside. She respects his boundaries, and does play differently with him.
She really smart, and she knows who is boss around here now. She even lets me cuddle her
