( If there is anyone in this forum truly height challenged the dwarf in this story is only an analogy, all apologies) If you were hanging out relaxing in a public park...and a dwarf approached you and suddenly started jumping up n down screaming...you'd probably assume they were disturbed. Maybe say a few choice words and walk away? Now if the same dwarf approached you screaming and hit you hard...would you resist defending yourself physically? Rahhh, it wasn't Ophie's fault this time. Dumb little unleashed something something and the owner was smirking "Ooh she gets nippy sometimes". Then get your nasty little beast away from my dog! In a blink it was like watching one of those cats getting shaken. I've got scratches across my leg, don't think Ophie got hurt...the idiot grabbed little Cujo and disappeared. I don't know if Ophie did any damage or not but...gives me chills, even if the other dog was off leash and attacked her, they would still take one look at her and put her at fault anyway rahhh...oh well enough about my day...

typical asshole little dog with typical asshole littledog owner. (and then there are the kind of little AND bigdog assholes who want to see if their Cujo can take on a pit bull) As I understand it, in most places, the offleash dog is always at fault... but as you say, when the victim is a pit bull, all fair standards dissolve.
It's hard to think quickly enough to respond... like kicking little Cujo...

Yep happened to Rocky a couple weeks ago. Advice on my thread was to call the cops or AC before they do. I did not but if it happens again I guess I will. I chose to let it go because I did not want to open a can of worms. Especially since i live in a small town where everyone knows everyone for the most part and everyone thinks they know everything. Stories get around fast and get changed just as fast.

Last time (hopefully last time EVER) we got jumped by a dog on the street, I did go to kick the dog (no choice) but kicked poor Luca by mistake, and I threatened the owner with calling the cops if it ever happened again. (They are my neighbors live a block away.)
@ssholes, indeed.

I've been conditioned after almost 3 years of living in this horrible neighborhood to expect little @sshole dogs to run up and give my 65+ lb babies a hard time. I don't hesitate to kick the little dogs. The owners know it too. They see me coming and actually decide to give a crap about their little rats and start chasing them around the street. It's a funny sight.
