Ok...Im weirded out and really do not know what is going on with Honey and Bola. Honey is 100% crate trained, been using one since she was a pup...She LOVES it. Bola has been using a crate since we got him, it has not bothered him at all...He will go in there even when hes loose and the crate door is open. --There is absolutly NO seperation anxiety in either one of them. Today I came home for my lunch break I immediately go to the dogs to let them out to potty and play (Like I do every day...There has been nothing different today) . I go to Honeys crate first, she is trembling and wont come out of her crate (Which is NOT normal for her, she usually BOLTS out all excited) then I turn and look at Bola---His face is all bloody and he has tried to chew thru his crate...He has all the bottom bars (This is a wire crate) broken off or bent. I open his crate and he just runs into my arms, he is also trembling and has big eyes. After 10 minutes of coaxing a bribing Honey comes out of her crate and stays beside me the whole time with big eyes and Bola keeps pacing around panting and shaking. This morning they were 100% fine...playing together and being goofy. But now I have 2 terrified dogs and I do not know whats going on?!?! I had to come back to work (Which is where Im at now) and I cant stop worrying about them. Before I left I tried to rig Bolas crate so he doesnt bust out and destroy the house. *Fingers crossed* it keeps him in. But WTH?! There is no storms, no wind, nothing. It makes me worried...In the back of my head I keep hearing stories of houses burning down and the dogs acting weird before (lol...yes, paranoid ). Has anyone else experienced anything else like this?! What do you guys think? ???

How are the crates positioned? Are the dogs nearby each other? Basically I'm trying to ascertain if they could have been arguing with each other through the crates.
Obviously SOMEthing happened that tripped the dogs out. Just have to figure out what and try to prevent it from happening again.......

That is def. a possibility and you may have to end up crating them in different rooms.

They are in different rooms...
Honey is in the hallway by the Kitchen and Bola is in the living room. :/
They would be able to hear each other but not see each other.
This is going to drive me CRAZY!

Yes hope he is ok. Refresh my memory on where he was prior to you adopting him. Was he in a shelter or foster home.....

Wow, that is really weird. Since they can't see each other, I'm guessing that this was not because they were getting pissy with one another. Maybe somebody tried to get in the house and they both freaked?

Bola has a pretty good gash in his cheek....Im actually debating on calling the vet. He was at a shelter...He had been there since April. No...I dont think they were upset with each other...They didnt act like anything with each other. They both just wanted to be glued to me and were shaking and obviously pretty freaked out. I dont know what happened but something has them both very shooken up. :/ Id hope no one was messing with the house but I just dont know... Wish I could be home with them. I think Im going to take them on a walk when I get home to try to ease their nerves...I hoping Bola doesnt get out of his crate or hurt himself anymore! My mind is SO not at work...

Chubby was loving his crate when I first brought him home (at the rescue, he was in a kennel about the same size and never had issues either). Then one day *boom* nearly tore his snout off trying to escape (ripped most of the bars off the base). He spent the next three days trying to fight his way out, very often hurting himself. So out went the crate and he's been fine since being left alone.
I'm not saying to go that route, but I'm only saying that maybe thats what happen with Bola. First fine with the crate and then fighting to get out. Maybe he hurt himself, making some loud and unpleasant noises that Honey heard (and not knowing what was going on) must have freaked her out.
Only a far-reaching guess.

As far as Honey being scared she might have been shaken up from hearing Bola trying to get out and chewing on his cage and so forth.
Try and clean off Bola's cheek to get a better look if it is a superficial cut or something that you think needs medical treatement.

^ Agree, you guys. Sounds plausible to me.
Amy, what's Honey's personality like? Does she get jumpy/freaked semi-easily? Having a new dog around who's making a lot of panicked sounds could have def wigged her out, regardless.

That could def be the case.
She really doesnt get scared easily. BUT, shes never heard a dog panicking before--Which he obviously was...So that could very well have freaked her out.
Im anxious to be home and see how they are behaving and get a better look at Bolas face.

Yeah, I definitely think Bola's antics freaked Honey out.
Mav used to be shaking like a leaf when we'd come home to Cappy's crate destruction 3 years ago. We separated their crates which only made Cappy worse. We crated them together for a long time (bad, I know, but they were very good with it. Mommy became paranoid.) Now we leave Cappy out and Mav crated.
Do you think you could just put Bola in a room with the door shut? Remove any possible breakables, and see how that goes.

i agree its possible she got scared with hearing him try to escape his crate. i would try a vari kennel with him instead of a wire crate, this way less damage to him with a vari kennel .

Yikes...That really scares me for A LOT of reasons. lol For 1. we rent...Id HATE to have anything ruined (ANd Im convinced he'd sit and scratch the door) and Id also be afraid hed get into something and really hurt himself (choking whatever). Im just so used to the whole crating idea...leaving a dog alone, unattended freaks me out. You think that would be the best bet with him?! ???

Possibly some anxiety coming out in Bola, and it freaked Honey out. Any neighbors that you can ask if they heard a racket coming from your place? I had one foster that could not be crated, he freaked...the whole neighborhood heard it, and yes I think it upset Murphy. I ended up babygating him in the kitchen (he was a Basset and couldn't scale a babygate LOL). It helped, but he still had some anxiety when I left.
