That is Lilly! She is a counter surfer... right in front of you. She has jumped on the table twice, and she won't stay out of the cat box and garbage. All of these behaviors happened in front of me. I am nilfing her, and when she is really naughty, she is leashed to me. What is the best way to correcting her in t he middle of the behavior? I use No and remove her from the situation, or I use off and out. But she will turn right around and do it again. At least when I catch Rhett and Winnie up to no good and tell them out/stop/off/no, they slink off like the end of the world has just been laid at their paws and they go and pout. Her pushiness... If Rhett is in the spot she wants to be in, she will lay on top of him, or next to him until he moves. She will wiggle her way into the smallest spot just to get near the spot she wants. I have made her get out of bed to allow Winston his spot because she will take over whatever space she can get, which ends up shoving Me! out of bed! He is also pushy for food. She is always very eager to eat in the morning. She will run back and forth to her crate, and try and crate. She auto sits for the dish inside the crate. She will try and shark treats, or my food as well. Not entirely sure what else to do other than nilf, work on her other commands. She is over all easy, but not. Calm and easy going, but not. Playful, fun or b!tchy. Kind of like a female

I think that you just have to be all over her. She sounds A LOT like Otis, especially his first two years. Otis is extremely sweet, but he loves to get into mischief and has a naughty streak a mile wide. He's very good natured, but also very stubborn. But he also responds really well to positive training because he is so smart. So I suggest doing a lot of training with Lilly. Teach her fun stuff with clicker training. She might even be a good candidate for agility. And even though she keeps pushing the boundaries, keep pushing right back. Just be all over her and redirect her from negative behaviors. And keep her on strict NILF. It's going to be a lot of work for a few weeks, but I think that she will get the message and settle down after that.

Lucy is the same way and she is 4 years old and has been on NILF since puppyhood. She does the same pushy things you described. If she wants to sit somewhere she will just get up there and push Jake out of the way until he moves so she can sit there. I try and tell her no and redirect her to sit somewhere else but she keeps trying it and the second I am not paying attention she is sitting in the spot and he is on the floor! Even when she is worn out from a day full of activities she acts like this. She really isn't pushy with us because she knows we won't take it from her but strangers and other dogs are another story.
i don't really have any advice, I just wanted to sympathize. I am interested in what people have to say about this as well.
