Brilliant! I hate how many times people let their own dogs get away with rude behavior because they are "super friendly" or "so happy to say hi!". I've had dogs growl at Chubby when they see him and the owners get upset and yell at their dog "But he just wants to meet you!!" and push their dogs closer and closer to Chubby. I always pull Chubby back and tell the owners "Its ok, your dog is probably just a little scared of Chubs. Maybe another time" and they look at me super offended.
I once had a little fluffy white dog growl and bark at chubby as we walked by and the owners looked very apologetic and said "Oh, our dog is usually very friendly". I told them it was ok and not all dogs like every dog they see, just like people". They then grabbed their dog, picked him up and tried to shove the little dog's butt in Chubby's face!!! they said "Oh, once he knows the big dog just wants to sniff and not bite he'll be fine". I was floored! I pulled Chubby away and told them that doing that is just going to scare their dog even more and walked away.
