I have been rotating Cleveland in and out of the crate when I am at home. I rotate Rhett and Lilly as well. If Winston is being a butt head, he goes in his crate as well. At first he went in alright, then he balked. It was a challenge to get him in his crate.
I figured out why the other day when I got in his crate to round up the toys. Rhett pee'd on his bedding. I felt so bad for making Winston hang out in a pissy crate. Now he will go in a lot easier.
I've put Cleveland and Winston in my room, and Lilly and Rhett are in the livingroon.
I have removed all toys, bones, chews, etc. The dogs only get those when they are in their crates.
That is the tough one since Lilly is a chewer and likes to have something in her mouth all the time. Cleveland loves his daily doses of playtime, but he enjoys playing all day if he can get away with it.
Lilly is a bit of a B and thinks everything must be hers. Rhett really believes he gets the short end of the stick every time, so he has to go steal everyone's toy, treat etc to make sure no one else got anything better. Winston is sneaky and waits for the moment when no dog is looking and steals what he wants. Cleveland wants it, Cleveland takes it.
When it was just Winnie and Rhett, there ware no issues. They stole each others stuff back and forth. Add Lilly, and she gets pissed off when her stuff is stolen, and that pisses Rhett off.
Winnie could care less because he just takes it all when they aren't looking.
Add Cleveland, and Rhett gets mad at him Lilly gets mad at all of them, and Cleveland gets mad at Lilly.
Remove all toys, all treats, etc. Even items that might be thought of fun to play with like shoes, books, combs, cardboard...
And it is much more peaceful. Until bitey face games take place.
Lilly heightens the level of excitement a lot. So if anyone is playing bitey face games, the non playing dogs are crated.
One on one playtime is accomplished by crating the others, or going outside. (that REALLY pisses the other dogs off)
Over all, things are going a lot better. Cleveland's personality is shining through again. He 'cussed' me out last night because he wanted his playtime. He is doing his crazy yard zoomies again, and still my cuddle bug and has to have the best spot on the bed. (so he thinks... Winnie still has the best one)
