You know I do think some breeds really need experienced handlers. Akitas especially come to mind. Not evil dogs but they're just do damn cute as puppies, and they can grow up into extremely territorial dogs with food aggression issues. Especially when people are completely ignorant of their thyroid issues (imagine living with a miniature bi-polar grizzly bear.)
I don't think any dogs should be banned but for large willful, potentially high maintenance breeds I do kind of wish breeders would be forced to hand out "Understand what the heck you're bringing home." forms to buyers.

I totally agree and I realize that there is no simple answer about so-called bad breeds or bad owners. There are some dogs that could do well with even the most inexperienced owners, as well as others that will be a challenge to anyone that owns them.
I just liked seeing someone dish it back out, so to speak, to those who make blanket breed generalizations.

There are definitely breeds that require experienced handlers. Pits, Chows, Akitas, GSD's, Rotts, and Dobes for sure. Then the more uncommon ones like Kuvasz, Komondor and Great Danes. Lots of people see the puppy.......not the coming dog. And the dog always loses out.
