the trainer is someone i know and have dealt with in the past. its only $5 per hike, which really isnt bad , and you hike in great spots in sussex county nj, i am going to join, it will be a great way to check out more trails for hiking up here that i dont know about.. if anyone else wants to do it join and we can all meet up and walk.. www.meetup.com/Sussex-County-Dog-Walking-Group/?gj=ej4&a=ti1_lm1

I will likely join this group. Not sure about this weekend but depending on where they are going to meet I will most likely join a few hikes. Assuming these are on lead hikes.

went on the hike this morning, it was a really great hike, most of the dogs were reactive, so no one was perfect, and we all had a great time.. i am going again in october .
it was only $5 for an hour and a half walk

good to know as I would love for my mom to come on a hike but Aura is reactive. I will try with out her first. Rocky is not usually reactive but might be if the other dogs are. Did you take both Rufus and Sadie? I have to find my mother a good class to take Aura too.

most of the dogs today were reactive, i took both dogs and they did fine, some whining, but that settled down fast once we started hiking.

I just joined the group on the website. I was looking through todays photos. I was going to ask you if and when I go would you walk in the back of the group with me, but I noticed in a photo you started at the back and moved your way up. There is also a good close up photo of your dogs. Any idea where they are planning the next hike? It will all depend on how far of a drive they are.

i only wound up in the front when we turned around somehow, but i then went right back to the back again, i prefer to walk in the back since rufus is iffy with other dogs. the next hike is oct 2nd, on the site it has the next 4 hike dates listed, they are all in sussex county nj, this one was at stokes state forest, they have been to walpack already, they do hikes all over sussex county.. they normally list the hike area at lease 1-2 days ahead of time before the hike. and yes i would walk in the back no problem, the part with me inthe front was only for a short time

this sundays hike info for anyone who can make it:
After this hike we will celebrate our canine member's who have a birthday in October. Please post a comment below if your dog's birthday falls in the month of October.
We will have treats for the dogs as well as coffee & snacks for us too!
Directions:
Route 206 to main entrance / gate of Stokes State Forest. Take Coursen Road to the end turn left and park in the parking lot on the left (same lot as in the past). We will then hike the Stony Lake trail to the lake and back again. The trail that leads to the lake is a bit hilly, but well worth the trouble once we get to the lake where the dogs can swim. We will have our snack at the picnic area by the lake and then hike back to the parking lot. Plan on 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
