Hey all, Need some words again.
Doing a training lecture in February towards end of month. I need to come up with a blurb that will be on flyer and in the media.
I have not totally decided what I am doing but I need to give a clue at least. Words I dont want used suggested by library which is why I need to get this done asap. (obedience, dominance, Pack Leader) Words I want to use Positive, success, companion, possibly partner (dog and I are partners?) I think I will cover basic training. Using clicker and treats. Also simple shaping stuff like going to your spot. Leaving it. NILIF. Collars and harness use. fun games to play. etc. However I dont really want to use the word basic training because I want people with dogs of all levels to come. So how can I word this? Rocky will be the subject for training no other dogs will attend this is a lecture. Please I need help as usual with words.

I can help grammatically but obedience isn't a topic I know enough to be creative with. You want to emphasize fun and all skill levels. Rainbowy colors and a variety of popular breed pics are a good thing. Maybe refer to it as an obedience shape up? "Hone your skills in relating to your canine companion" ?

Here are some of my thoughts so far. Please someone polish it up put my words in order add some ideas. Below is just my thoughts in random order. I write things as they come into my mind. It does not really matter because the girl writing it up is going to likely change things but I am going to ask her to please not add the words Dominance, pack leader or even obedience which was originally in the title. The program is called Puppy Love, dog obedience. I asked for it to be changed to Puppy Love Positive training, I think I need a better word then training.
Dogs Just Wanna Have Fun, Learn some cool dog shaping games. Fido's getting rebellious? -(not sure what to say here) Pulling you down the street, Is he sassing you? Maybe it seems he has just gone deaf. Come learn with your library how the use of positive methods creates harmony in your home with your canine companion. Positive=Success.

Seems like you're looking for a good summary paragraph. Here's a shot at it... just a suggestion, maybe you can change it around to suit what you're really looking for. Looking for fun new activities for you and your canine companion? Having issues with a "stubborn dog?" Want to learn how to walk your dog rather than have him walk you? Come to the library on DATE AND TIME for a free lecture on how you can use positive and fun training techniques to set your dog up for success! Topics will include: - Click for Fun - Play Time - Who's Walking Whom? - Collars, Leashes, Harnesses, Oh My! No matter what your dog's age or experience, there will be fun new tricks and tips for all levels!

Thanks Suzi, I did not have a lot of time today so I just copied and pasted what you wrote and what I had and turned it in. THe library will make something of it. But I have more time to work on it a little more and turn in a final summary. Thanks Now everyone is welcome to share any training materials and or books with me PLEASE! I just took out Positive dog training for idiot's from the library. It is not the newest but the second edition. Its alright. It is a bit technical. I will use some of the ideas.
