I had problems with halo gaurding n growling when she had fresh bones. I mentioned it on this sight, and received replys n advice right away. one of the methods mentioned to me was the trading method. omg this works great. I started it this week with halo, she also doesnt like to release her tennis ball when she brings it back, so we got a stick when she would bring back the ball we would say trade n she would drop ball and go for stick. we would than throw the ball she would drop stick and go after ball. we kept repeating and to our surprise she does great, with no fight to get ball from her.
this week we are going to repeat process with some fresh bones. I really think this is going to work n stop the gaurding.
I just want to thank RPG for all there great advice and to help in raising my little angel HALO, dont think i could manage with out all of you. THANK YOU AGAIN FROM HALO N MOM

Good Work Susan and Halo. Keep it up though they easily slip back. Once you can drop the trade and take bone from her dont go to ignoring her or she will slip back.
As for the tennis ball. Another great way is to have several tennis balls when she brings the one you have another to throw and she will drop the one in her mouth. I have to do this with my moms dog. At least three balls works well.
