Thought I'd share. Please crosspost if you feel moved to do so.

Dear Real Pit Bull Team,
My name is Katrin Deren and I am German, living in Kuwait with my American husband Tom and our two rescued doggies Rosie and Soldier. We got our rescued dogs here in Kuwait as it is almost impossible to not get confronted with some kind of abused/ injured animal in this country at one day, unless one decides to be blind and not see the suffering… We decided to see and help as we can, also being active at animal shelters. Now, the reason I contact you is of course not our life story, but GIMPY.
We rescued the poor approx. 4 years old pit bull Gimpy affront of our house few weeks ago; he must have been left out there the same day, because he certainly didn’t have the strength to get to our living area by himself. He was starved, dehydrated and had a dislocated back leg; and this for a longer period of time, as the veterinarian told us later. He could have been used for dog fights (this is unfortunately the only reason here in Kuwait people get pit bulls…) according to the scars he has. After the surgery on his hip and few weeks of recovery the sweet boy is gaining weight, looking much better and always being so friendly, peaceful and grateful for any affection and love the hospital team and we show towards him. The sad thing is, that he might lose his injured leg – if he doesn’t start using it soon the doctor will have to amputate the leg.. We hope for the best and will give him more time to recover.
Now, I am contacting you in hope that you could post Gimpy’s story and the pictures, which I attached with this email, on your website. I know that you must have so many poor abused pit bulls from your area as well, and that every one of these suffered souls deserves a loving home. But so does Gimpy! We could not give him in Kuwait to anyone without being afraid that this dog could end up being in dog fights again – even if only for “training” purposes!!
Therefore we are trying the impossible – to find a loving home for Gimpy in the U.S.! We would be so grateful if your team could help us with that. WE WILL COVER ALL THE EXPENSES FROM GIMPY’S MEDICAL TREATMENTS; SHOTS ETC. REQUIRED TO HIS SHIPPING EXPENSES TO U.S.
Please let me know if there are other websites / groups / people I could contact to spread the word about Gimpy.
I look forward to your comments and hopefully you are in the position of helping us with Gimpy.
