I just got a pit bull puppy yesterday. I previously had a british pit bull crossed with american pit bull (carver bloodline). He lived for 17 years and I am now ready to have another one again.
This pit bull is from the carver bloodline, her name is Roxy and bonded with me from the moment we met.
Does anyone have any advice for me on things to do for her?

Welcome to the forum. I suggest you start out by reading through the threads on training and behavior. For a young pup, the most important thing is taking every opportunity for her to have positive social interaction with other dogs (supervised, of course). How old is your girl? There's tons of positive training tips in the other threads as well, depending on how old she is.

Congrats on the new addition! I would recommend checking out the Managements and Care and the Training and Behavior sections. If you have any questions do feel free to ask and we'll do our best to answer them! I don't know much about bloodlines, but just read a bit on the Carver lines, sounds like a good performance line. I bet your little one will have heaps of energy!
There is no such thing as a "British Pit Bull," do you perhaps mean that your dog was half Staffordshire Bull Terrier? That is the British breed most similar to the American Pit Bull Terrier. I have a Stafford and he is a great dog, glad to hear that yours lived to be 17!

Welcome and congratulations on your new addition. I would suggest as above and socialize train and exercise. Love, cuddle, kiss and always use positive reinforcement. Check out and learn NILIF.

Thank you guys! She is 7 weeks and has been really good with my jack russell and my mom's 2 jack russell. I am currently on crutch with physio so she is confronted with the randomity of the active jack russells. She has been taken in by all 3 and runs the house amock with them. She is already doing her loo with the other dogs outside and learning the commands they listen to - it's like monkey see, monkey do.

My one concern is the 3 fox terriers my sister in-law owns. They are around 7 years old each and have a history of being problematic with letting new dogs into their "pack". Any advice?

If your SIL's dogs have a history of being aggressive or even highly selective towards other dogs, I would not allow your pup to interact with them. Remember it's all about setting the dogs up for success.

Hi and welcome! I concur with the advice above. Please be sure to browse around some of the other threads and if you have any specific questions, feel free to start a new thread. You might get more responses if you post on the topic-appropriate board :-)
