I have a 2 year old pit we just adopted 2 weeks ago from the humane society. He has a couple issues I would like to address. When he plays, he can get a little rough like grabbing shirt sleeves, wanting to chew the slippers on your feet & kisses become nips. Has anybody have any feed back on Jason Mann Pitbull Training? I found his information on google. Of course he sounds reputable but then again its the internet. I hate to spend the $37 for cr@p.. Open for any suggestions. Thanks Attachments:

he used to be a member on a few forums i used to be on, he was a very nice guy. you can email him to talk to him before you buy it too i think
sounds like your new dog just needs some manners training, a little bit of NILIF and some structure...

Aww, Milo is such a handsome boy! I agree with Maryellen. Sounds like these are issues that you could probably deal with by doing some NILF (nothing in life is free) training. I suggest reading through some of the discussions in the Training & Behavior section. Clicker training would also great for building a positive and trusting relationship with Milo, and it would be a lot of fun for both of you.

If your boy was found a stray, and then spent 5 months in the shelter, he just needs to learn a few manners on how to play with his human family.
Most of the stuff you don't need to spend money to learn, feeding schedules, the 'Ouch' and ignore method when he starts playing to rough.
Keep at it and don't settle for any 'quick-fix' solutions, it takes time and patience.

I get his newsletter sent to my email. He has a very interesting newsletter with what I think has solid info and it's free.

Definitely look up Nothing in life is free. Maryellen since he had dog two weeks I guess it is too late for the shut down period right? WJB-my moms dog did same crap after she got her. She is not a pit bull we believe jack-cattle dog mix possibly. Anyway it went on for quite a while because my mom did not follow through with the 2 wk shut down or the NILIF. After 2 wk shutdown I got involved and I do what I can when I am babysitting. She has gotten better, but she can still give mom a hard time but that is because she enables it. I don't. Ignoring her works best.

no he can still do 2 week shutdown as long as the dog is an adult dog and not a puppy

Thanks for the Milo complements. The more I think about based on his known history, he is a very well mannered dog for the most part. A couple things to work on to make him 100% tolerable. Can you elaborate on the 2 week shutdown?
Thanks, Bill B.
