Ok, there is one major problem with your video. Lincoln is TOO FREAKING CUTE!!! I have to watch it again, because the first time I just squeed at Lincoln the whole time and didn't pay enough attention to your excellent presentation. First impression is that you're an awesome instructor, though. Very clear with your explanations. Not your fault that your adorable squishy puppy totally upstaged you, lol!

This is Officer Allison. Sir, you are in violation for having a Pit Bull who is too adorable. The puppy must be confiscated and held by me...forever. That is all.
Seriously, though, I also paid attention to that little pile of puppy on the floor and couldn't concentrate on what you were doing. Next time, put a wig on him or something so he looks less adorable.

really you have to be patient with us as we are so distracted by the excessive cuteness of Lincoln.

Drew, that was really cool. Yay for clicker training, it really is so great and my absolute favorite training method (which is why it is the ONLY method I use....if you know what you are doing, you literally can teach any animal pretty much anything they are physically and mentally capable of doing using a clicker.) I think you have all the basics down pat. Get the behavior first, click/treat, put the cue into action once you can predict the behavior, switch to random reinforcement, fade the clicker, switch to your verbal marker/release word (I use Yes), use a variety of rewards. Oh, and remember that the click ends the behavior.

Thanks for the tips Mary! I agree the clicker is a God-send, really has helped me to help the pups tremendously. I will make sure to fade the clicker and remember to end the behavior with it.
Suzi thanks for checking it out again! I know it was a bit long-winded and will work on getting the content squeezed into a smaller window and being a bit more organized with its presentation.
Thank you gals!

OMG watching such a young pup throw out behaviors is just too damb cute. You are going to be able to teach him play dead and RELAX real easy. Relax is my favorite trick. I am doing a training lecture in February will be introducing clicker and helping local residents to be able to prepare their dogs for canine good citizen. Will it be ok to use some of your video.

BTW, Lincoln is brilliant and it is awesome to see such a clicker savvy pup. (I think the name Lincoln is great, too.)

Love that is great, and Lincoln already began performing his 'Band dead' on cue yesterday. I am uploading the video of it tonight.
Yes you are welcome to use the video. I don't require anything other than a shout out. ;o)
I will be uploading more videos in the near future and I would hope they will be better with time/information presentation. If you have any requests Lincoln and I* would be happy to make a video specifically for you.

TOO CUTE. I recognize Lincolns intelligence. I did not get Rocky until he was about 4 months old. He quickly learned tricks like bang bang. I wish I took more video of then. I also wish I had continued teaching tricks. I slacked off. But I think you are inspiring me to re introduce the fun.
