A friend of mine is fostering 2 puppy mill pups for the local humane society until they are a little more social and older.
On Saturday we went to visit and of course, Bola came too. These pups are miniature poodle crosses so they are tiny so I kept a close eye on Bola (so he wouldnt innocently get too rough and hurt them). He amazed me.... He looked like a momma dog with these two fluffy puppies.
It started with licking them-their ears, mouths and ‘parts’, then the pups were climbing all over him-and he’d roll over on his back to let them, every once in awhile he would gently nudge them with his nose. When one of the pups would walk away from him, he’d follow it then nudge it back to the living room (Where we all were) After the pups wore themselves out they both nestled themselves in between his front legs and fell asleep. He then laid his head by them and slept. OMG....SO CUTE! I have pics to share, just have to upload them.
I had a question...Bola did something I’ve never seen before tho. He went up to the food bowl like he was going to eat...got a mouth full of dog food, chewed it up then spit it out right by the pups. He’d bring it to them to spit it out, watch them eat it then go get more. Do mother dogs do this?
