I saw this in the library and came home and ordered it for Emmy. Beautiful photos and simple facts. It briefly explains the origins of bull baiting and dog fighting then becomes a guide for caring for your special doggie. I'd say it's a book for maybe ten and under. Very positive guide for kids who already have pibble buddies.

I also wanted to mention The Best Dog Ever is a series...there's like nine other books profiling different breeds. The same basic outline for each dog, a short history of the breed, what makes a good family for them and why that particular breed is the best dog ever.
The pictures are good for Emmy. The historical ones aren't overwhelmingly scary and the present day pics are great. The authors opinion- what we already know. These doggies aren't for everyone but for a family who appreciates energetic, strong, goofy and cuddly...
