well i posted a few pics under the pics of my 3 dogs i have two rescues and one rescued me you could say.
my background got out of USMC after being shot in iraq i come home had no family or friends to speak of < one brother but not realy close anymroe i changed alot>
had a friend that had a female pit pregant i wanted a puppy i did alot of research on the breed spent hours on the net and in library. and desided the breed was for me < raised with german shepards > mother gave birth to 3 puppys the runt burban < one i have > mother only lived for a few hours enough to feed the pups once. then she died for unseen bleeding she was haveing. he gave the two puppies away to a shelter there in portland, i ask for the runt and got her. i took bottle fed her from a couple hours old till she was 7 weeks and able to eat solid food. she is no longer a run she is 2 years old now and 68 lbs as of this morning. she eats healthy to say the least we run 10 miles a morning walk 3-6 after lunch and 6-7 after dinner. she loves to run realy high energy. i spend 7-8 plus training sesions through out the day lasting 15-20 minutes each she learns fast few bumps in the road on training.
i got a male pit baily < after bailys and cream, funny thing i dont drink yet 2 pits both named after achol <sp> didnt name second pit> he is around a year old not sure he spent his entire life in a caring kinal when i got him person was scared of him and kept him locked up. took me last 6 months to get him to leave his kenal and stretch in the yard and run. but he has taken nicly to training and takeing jogs with me but fear of him being abused again i will never let him leave me. he had a hard enough life before i got him from the police. i am known to take in the dogs and get them healthy and find them a home in which i do alot of research on the people that want them and even drop in to cheak on the dogs many times in the first year. only ever had to take one dog back.
that leaves me to my rottie levi i got him at around 1 year old someone had beat him realy bad and left him for dead at the river i lived near. with ALOT of TLC and time i got him on his feet he got better never feared people but never realy trusted men. found a female that wanted him and did alot of research she seemed like a good person she took him and through out the year i checked on him on my 7 or 8 visit i found him tied to a tree in back yard heat of the day. no water and looked liek he had been there a while tied by a leash of all things. i got him a chain gave him water and called sherrifs dept. found out a male moved in with her and long story short he said rotties had to be mean and had tied him to a short leash and was whipping him everyday. i took him home and he will never leave again. i sence have stopping relocating dogs i dont trust people with them . the dog catcher still brings me pit bulls rotties and bully breads so he doesnt have to put them down. and if they are good tempered he picks them back up a little bit later and starts there time over <6 weeks in the shelter and they have to be put down> so i get them at 5 weeks hold them for 2 weeks or so and he gets them if anyone comes looking for a dog. and he checks on the dogs once a week when people get a bully breed for two years . this area has bad broblem with people trying to fight dogs. and the dog catcher and me both agree that the deed is what makes the bad name for the dogs not the breed and he give the dogs chances not like most other people around here who hate pits on sight.
joseph.
