Recently saw Cabin in the Woods. Interesting idea, creepy execution, still not sure how I feel about the ending. I still recommend people to watch it because its such a different kind of 'horror' movie. Its got some laughs too. It seemed like a really weird premise from the trailer.

Dharma and Otis both have these and our vet has said the same thing. We keep a close eye on them, but they don't seem to change much.

Well gee, now I guess I must check this out. Is it on Netflix? I've heard of it, just didn't bother watching. Was this show on SyFy? Yes, it airs on SyFy but older episodes are on Netflix. It's cheesy, but nerdtastic!

First, congrats on those numbers. Very impressive!
John, I think all of us here on RPBF recognize that you are beyond committed and work your ass off for the dogs, even to the detriment of your physical and emotional well being. You have my utmost respect and admiration for that. As I've shared with you in previous posts, having worked in social services I know how deeply this work affects you. But I have to agree with Mary that you seem to - in my opinion unfairly - be targeting breed specific rescues. I've noticed this not just in this post, but in other posts and comments here and on Facebook. Your evidence in this case seems to be only anecdotal. My opinion is that we all have roles to play in this whole rescuing animals thing. Animal control, humane societies, shelters, large rescues, small rescues, breed rescues.... some do more because they have the resources, some don't do much at all because they don't know what the hell they're doing in the first place.
I understand your frustration and even your resentment, but I think it's misplaced. Yes, we must hold rescue groups accountable for bad practices, ignorance about the breed, etc. But it seems like you're saying "go big or go home" and that's counterproductive. We've all seen the horrible consequences of trying to save more and more and more animals when you just don't have the resources. To me, that's not a positive pressure to be putting on rescues. I'm not in a position to be able to speak about the statistics of Phoenix Pack/Mutts-n-Stuff, but I do know that Gale is one of the hardest working and most knowledgeable pit bull rescuers out there. She was there before fight busts were cool, when no "all breed" group wanted to come within sniffing distance of those dogs. As with all things, there are many sides and plenty of blame to go around. But it seems like we can help more dogs when all of these different groups with their different capacities work together, rather than demanding more and more and more from groups that are doing all they can.

I don't understand how I've never seen Warehouse 13 before. Sure, I don't watch much tv but I manage to find all the really good shows. How did I miss this awesomeness for 4 seasons???

I prefer to read horror. I can put it down and walk away as many times as I need. Me too!

OMG, so glad she's home safe. No offense, but Aryn should have learned her lesson last time when Wrinks was loose with the boys. You must have been so frantic Melonie. I have nightmares about this kind of thing.

Yay CC!!!!!!!!! Thanks, everyone. But all I did was take her walking. Sedona did all the rest. Not true. You've given her patience, time, space, confidence, love... and the opportunity to come out of her shell on her own schedule and on her own terms. You didn't push her too hard, but you didn't let her hide in her crate 24/7. Sedona deserves credit for being such a brave girl, but you deserve credit for helping her find that brave girl hiding inside. ETA: I luuuuv that pic of Rufus giving Dave kisses!!!

Sweet jeez, that's like listing the westboro baptist church as a source of "factual" info concerning gay/lesbian rights.
