Im beside myself suzi and mel. All of asudden she is going downhill. This morning i thought she was dying as she fell and couldnt get up so i sat with her, then got a blanket to move her and she staggered up with my help. Her breathing is more labored and her legs just give out. Tonight she only ate half her dinner and refused the resy. I got her to eat some wet food but she refused that after she ate a few mouthfuls. She is sleeping more and when awake issometimesvdisorientated. She keeps looking at me and my heart is breaking for her

Tonight she got tramodol for her stiff legs as she didnt want to leave the property and go for a walk she has good moments and not so good moments. She hasnt played with her tennis ball in a while either. She can still do the deck steps as we tore the steps down and put shorter ones up so she can still climb them. She is stull walking around and still has bursts of energy but they are getting fewer now.we are going to take it day by day. I ordered cosequin ds for her will be here thursday a coworker said it might help her disorientation along with her joints. I am going to see if i can get her to walk more to help her joints and take it day by day

ME it's really such an awesome thing you've done taking Honey on and providing her with the quality care she is having in the remaining time she has. I am sorry, y'all have my sympathy.

honey is ok, i started her on cosequin DS today to try to help with her spacing out and her joints. im just taking it one day at a time with her. she will only eat a little less then half her dinner now. she still walks around, but sleeping more. now her favorite thing is to wake me up numerous times at night to go out and pee(which is fine by me as that means she has to climb up and down 7 stairs so its exercise lol) i have the kitchen and dining room padded with wee wee pads for her for when i am at work for easy clean up. i knew before taking her what was involved, so its no surprise in a sense.. thank you all

honey used to be able to walk around the block (good 15 minute brisk walk), the other night she walked up the street to the corner. tonight she walked one house and one driveway away then turned around and headed back home. i had to carry her up the front steps, then she stood in the hallway for a bit before she could walk to the kitchen. luckily she is 38 lbs so i can carry her lol. if she was bigger i would get a stroller... yep, imagine that, me pushing a stroller with a pit/husky mix in it LOL!!! hmmm maybe i should get one anyway and push her all around the neighborhood......

Hugs to you Maryellen... you gave Honey beautiful, happy days full of fun in swimming pools and chasing horses and goofy Rufus. What a wonderful gift for a sweet old girl. RIP Honey.
