I really love the Sorrell lines and the FlaSunshine and Miracolas and of course the Corvino lines. I'm getting a pup that has these bloodlines from a local breeder who cares about the breed. The pups grandpa's are both ace of ace GrandChampions. So were looking into those pedigrees more. I truly love the Corvino line though. That was the first line I ever saw up close

Can anyone tell me about the Bolio lines? My breeder is thinking about giving me a bolio line pup verses the sorrell/miracola, we originally talked about. I know alot of people talk about the bolio gameness but my breeder shows and is a part of midflorida and central florida clubs.

I wish I had first hand experience with this line, but I don't. All I can offer you is that I have never heard anything bad about the bloodline. You also might want to check this out: www.sporting-dog.com/select-pages/indianbolio.htmlI'd love to know what you end up with and how you like your new pup. Who's the breeder, if you don't mind my asking?

The kennel is Lil Goon here outside of Tampa. He has some Corvinos, Bolio,Cowboy,Boyles,Boomerang and Divines dogs. He is a member of Midflorida Apbt, and started Central florida terriers also and shows with them. Don't have the pedigree but his dogs are UKC and ADBA registered. The stud is called Lil'Goon's Kid Bolio. Dam is a Tombstone, But I don't know which pup I'm getting and the other Sire is Lil'Goons Tyson. Mom is Chanel but he sold her pregnant.

Well I don't need to worry about the Bolio lines. I'm getting another pup from him. Just got the phone call saying he got a pup returning to him that is 3 mos old. The previous owners are going to puerto rico. Where they can't take their pup. So I will be getting the pup tomorrow night after work. He's going to bring the pup up to me. SO excited. Just got to think of a name and everything and get the house ready.

I was told the pup looks just like his dad. His dad is from Fl Sunshine Goodfellas Gino and I can't remember his mom. The pup is from his last litter and actually monday night he told me a pup from that litter would've been perfect for me. And then poof, their's one available. I know mom and dad and both have great temperaments. Pretty calm also and very obedient. If you want to see the dad, you can see him on my myspace.com/pagansrus.

Not really, This pup was a different mom, and he always finds good homes for his litters. And if something happens he will take the pup back, like our newest edition ODIE!!! See photo section under ODIE!!!

My dogs go back to the old school edge, I'm not a fan of the "new" edge. I don't really have a favorite, but I do like Gaff, Benmar & Noble lines.

Mine is of the rare GFIY bloodlines
"go fetch it yourself"
Ditto on the good post from VAL about puppy mill dogs. Unless the breeder shows or performs, their dogs can become so far out of standard they are no longer recognizable. That doesn't make them "unpure" but it does make them a poor example of the breed. That's the purpose of standards - to keep a breed within a particular set of characteristics. Registries don't police themselves, they just take the money and pass out the papers.
If I was ever going to buy a dog, it would be a dog that was either an AST or APBT but it would have papers (limited or full), it would be from stock that was shown in conformation. it would be from stock that have its hips, patellas, elbows and heart passed by the OFA. It would be within the standard and from stock that had proven temperaments through either CGC or TT. I wouldn't care if the dog itself could win a single show but it is the work that goes into the healthy animal that is important to me.

I run Garner/Redboy/Jeep/Ironlines just for the simple fact give me dogs that very rarely break 65 lbs and are full of drive and work hard and i get the wide range of colors and they are very smart dogs

One of the things that attracted me to the APBT was that it was bred for functional before style, even if that function was, unfortunately, blood sports at the time. They were bred for gameness with a sound, people loving temperament. Even today, the breed standard has a fairly wide range of acceptability in size or colors compared to most pure-bred dogs. They are a breed of purpose and as long as the AKC stays out of it, they will continue to be bred for purpose before looks. Unfortunately, a lot of these backyard breeders (those who aren't breeding for illegal fighting purposes) are breeding these bully-mixes. These breeding are strictly for appearance and rarely if ever have any understanding of genetics and health issues. The "look" is the main concern, not actually breeding for temperament and to standard. I see bloodlines like "watchdog" listed and I just cringe. Hey valliesong, I'm with you on choosing by temperament and adopting shelter dogs. There are some beauties in the shelters around here (that's why I can't go in them, I just want to cry for all the awesome homeless pitties that won't have a chance, no thanks to a bad reputation that some unscrupulous breeders help to keep perpetuating).
