K so just looked at the colors... Aida is definately Seal. She looks black indoors but has some chocolate color when you see her in the light.
Now here's the question, the APBT colors said nothing about Seal.. Does that mean she's an AmStaff and not an APBT or can they appear in both and it just wasn't mentioned??

Huh I think Rocky is actually seal and white. His patches look black but they are really a very dark brown in the sun and the biggest patch is actually half black half dark brown Learn something new every day.

Yep Definitely white/seal but for his id purpose will keep it as black and white as for the average person would not know seal. www.adbadog.com/uploads/Color%20Chart/seal2.jpgAnd Shay above photo is off the ADBA website which Patchopits posted showing a seal APBT. To me Rocky looks closest to ADBA APBT. They can have snippier snouts than the ukc APBT. Actually if you go down on this chart you will see 4 different seal colors go down past middle photos after the redish color dogs there are 4 dogs look black click on them and you will see the description of different seal colors www.adbadog.com/p_gallary.asp?aid=5&pid=145

I guess my guy would be considered a blue brindle color, or maybe blue fawn brindle depending on what registry you go by. He has a fawn base coat, with blue brindle and nose. He looks different depending on the light, as well. He's a rescue, so who knows what's in the mix. I'm just glad he's mine!

Ok, I've been seeing "Lilac" showing up a lot with people that are trying to sell "rare" puppies. Is this just a more diluted blue (which is already a diluted black)?

Also, according to the ABPT one, is Chubs considered cinnamon or red? His eyes are light-medium hazel, his nose is dark pinkish.

I'd call him a red/rednose dog; he is probably technically cinnamon, though.

From what I've seen, Lilac almost looks like a tan/blue color. I'm sure it's a dilute of something. Another fad we don't need!

Lilac sounds like another compromise of genetics in order to breed the latest in "rare" colors. They'll keep coming as long as the public keeps buying them. I don't see an end to it. It's as if the pit bull is the new custom car; treated like property.

Lilac is a dilution of chocolate, just like blue is a dilution of black. And dilute to dilute breeding is never a good idea.

Honestly, I don't judge dogs by color however the overly dilute dogs give me the creeps. I think it looks ugly even on the best structured dogs. It looks like a mutation to me. Just my opinion of course and BYBs are pumping them out like crazy pretty much thanks to those who don't bother to research and want something they perceive as or are told is "rare".

That's cuz they are a mutation! Very scary that breeders are exploiting dogs based on color.
