In such situations you might be able to pick the closest "acceptable" breed your dog resembles and hey its a _______ mix. <gotta keep a straight face and sound way total sincere while you say it>

Having been uncomfortably close to this situation...I don't think for a first offense they should have an automatic death penalty...a second or so documented one would be just cause... Sad the offender was a pitty.

But then tonight was a better walk/hike, woof about six miles total-rats, I used to be able to run that no problem but things creak alittle more now sometimes-anyway we stopped at Dunkin Donuts and called to the counter and the server brought us out a cup of ice water for Pookins then I had to get taco shells from Stop and Shop. Lo and behold, nice young employee in the lot was so helpful!!!!!! I explained Ophie can't go in the store and will break her leash if I tie her, its okay she doesn't bite she's just very very strong...I ran in and out of the store and she was sitting beside him eyes glued to the front door but calm. Wouldn't even accept a tip, there ARE sane people sometimes... Bye the bye do you know how many jowly guys consider Barnes and Noble a singles bar???? Eeeeeessh

Dumbdumbdumb read this book at the pool "A Thousand Sisters", actually scanned it looking for a point. Basically a writer who gets sponsered by Oprah somehow to go to the Congo and ask women how they feeeeel. For gawd, Doctors without Borders, human rights groups send in someone who can actually help people while they talk...this dumb butt is busy taking pictures and patronizing these women who have watched their villages and bodies destroyed and here's this way total white person getting interviews...I'd be pissy too More cheerful title-"How to Raise a Jewish Dog"-"Oy sniffing butts? Nu, you didn't learn that from me."

Now we don't give our critters enough credit for their efforts, it takes some kinda work to lift your head from on paw to the other, never mind turning your whole body around, man its exhausting...humans just don't understand

Oy that my son should be the English major...I came in the other day after one of those walks where as usual we cleared a few sidewalks. The mami who passed us muttering at the kids not to touch Ophie. The woman with the teacup grabbing her furball at the sight of us. I look like a typical middle aged grandma. No really visible tats, no piercings, no alternative clothes...sneakers, sweats and gap tshirt. And I see Ophie as...well Ophie, unless she sees a squirrel or stray cat...she pretty much chugs ahead looking back at me with her doggie grin. She glances at cars and people but doesn't bark. Just looks at me questioning sometimes. I was complaining to my son after this walk-"Whats wrong with these people?!!! What do they see???". He came up with- imagine if someone had a big centipede on a leash, it was friendly and clean and happy. Would you approach it? The owner tells you it's friendly and won't bite. No you wouldn't approach it because you've been conditioned that centipedes are...the way some people feel about "pit bull type dogs"

So glad Cappy is alright and everyone made nice while you were gone, must have been so scary for you. Always worry Ophie is going to go through the porch window sometime. She only got loose once in recent years and the neighbor found her pancaked in his yard, scared out of her tree. She still goes wacky at the window wanting to come out with me though

Atta girl Suzi, after the tears or sometimes in the middle of them it's okay to get silly. We had our Frankenkitty pass on last summer. One of those cats with brain disorders so she didn't live a long time. Just started to fail suddenly and within a week she just shut down. It was hard, really hard to watch her go and know they couldn't help her.. But came up with a story for Em about Frank being a cat angel and flying crooked and seizing the way she did when she walked. And that she asked for the body she didn't have in life and her spirit done flew into Ninja...now she's SuperNinjaHai!!!!!!!! Whatever gives you peace

Yeah if you see the pictures on the hearts site they look like castoffs from designer doggies. I know some folks are determined to buy from breeders for alot of reasons but it seems ridiculous to me. A friend's brother wanted ragdoll cats, so they spent $500(?) each for two stunning cats...who destroyed two couches peeing on them and can't be allowed near living room furniture anymore. Our alley cats were all free and more cuddly n' incredibly more dignified than that, Ophie too

Does anyone know of a hiking group or play group that's already established in Essex or Union County? ( otherwise I'll start networking at the reservation). The only group I've heard of so far started out with strictly spaniels...can only imagine the faces, yes we have come to eat your doggies...even a bulldog group would probably be more welcoming

They just...the descriptions are so sweeeet they make your teeth hurt. I know a whole world of people whooo wuv these wittle fluffy beasts but would rather have cats for small and fluffy. In a dog I want a good-sized DAWG, someone I don't have to be afraid to lose in the couch cushions ya know?
