This happened fairly quickly but obviously I've been thinking long and hard about adding a new family member for a while. I contacted Luca's breeder yesterday and the Universe just had all the stars aligned perfectly right, at the perfectly right time.

This is pretty much my dream dog, a show quality male, red. The litter is conceived and will be born mid-May, at my breeder's home in NC.

Here is daddy, he won BOB at WKC this past Feb and also the STCA nat'l specialty.

Here is a comment re: the sire:

"This is likely the best male Amstaf in Europe and certainly one of the best I have seen anywhere. His topline is exactly what the breed standard describes; a slight slope from withers to rump (croup), with the second gentle slope to the tailset. He fits the requirements of the standard in every way. The correct topline is extremely rare in our breed now and is in danger of becoming extinct. Study this dog's topline and conformation and know that anything else is simply wrong according to the breed standard. I have been complaining about the bad toplines in our breed for many years and especially disturbed because so few people in the breed even care about it. It makes me feel good to see one that is as good as this one.

Yeah, I miss showing a lot. Even if I just go out one or two weekends a month, it is one of those very few things in life that makes me pretty much perfectly content/happy (showing/being on dog show grounds).
