Here is a decent picture of Boomers bod. I don’t think Boomer would be considered a “game” Pit would he? He’s a pretty thick guy. He’s kind of like a tank. He is shorter and thick. Definitely not an American Bully (Thank God) but not a “game” Pit, right??? Here is a pic if him from the front.

He isn't what I'd call "game" bully. They tend to lean toward the lean side (oh, the pun!). Much slimmer in through the waist area. Like a "Throw a bully head on a not so deep chested Boxer", to me.

Amy Jo now this is not an insult in anyway but what came to my head is.... "Im a little teapot short and stout. " He is really a little tank. Good god help you when he zoomies his chest right into you.

He reminds me of a typical pet/show-bred UKC APBT. He is just so handsome (I know I've said it a million times, but I can't help it!). And FWIW, I don't think he is overly thick at all.

I love how Boomer can look both silly and dignified at the same time.

LOL Carol Ann!! That is TOTALLY Boomers song! LOL! LMAO!!! ;D
I have had a few people say to me "Thats one nice game-bred Pit" And Ive always just kind of shrugged because IMHO he was a little too built to be "game".
Yea, I love my little tank! LOL!
Thanks for the compliments guys! Boomer says "Thanks for thinkin' Im oh so sexy!" LOL!!!

LOL I get oh how old is your pup all the time and I have all adult dogs. The other common thing is They can't be APBTs they are too sweet... The average person on the street doesn't knwo much from what I've seen about APBTs. However sadly neither do some of the people who actual own them and worse are those who breed them who knwo nothing about the standard.
At times, it can be quite frustrating talking to people.
On another note, I think too many throw around the term game bred without even knowing what it means. To elaborate, game bred is not referring to a specific way the dog looks, although I hear many referring to ADBA typy dogs as such. Not all ADBA dog are game bred at all...

Because the standard in UKC says "desired" weigh and ADBA doesn't list an actual weight at all, some breeders use that as an excuse and do their own thing pretty much without looking at the whole standard which also calls for dogs to be proportionate. Here you go this is taken off the UKC standard which actually was somewhat revised because of the influx of bully breeders: www.ukcdogs.com/WebSite.nsf/Breeds/AmericanPitBullTerrierRevisedNovember12008I just pulled out the part I was speaking about to show you. "...actual weight and height are less important than the correct proportion of weight to height."
"Dogs over these weights are not to be penalized unless they are disproportionately massive or rangy."The proportions and overall structure of a dog affect movement/ workability which is part of why the standard calls for specific things. The proportions and overall structure of a dog affect movement/ workability which is part of why the standard calls for specific things. Here is what I consider to be correct proportions: I'm using my Bodacious as an example

Bodacious is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!! Such a good example of a correct APBT.
And the idiots that use the standards as an excuse to breed "bully" style dogs are also conveniently ignoring EVERYTHING else in the standards, the working history of the breed, and overall breed type. I wish the stupid UKC and ADBA would put height and weight DQ's in already. The breed is being DESTROYED.

So basically the ADBA says it's OK to have any weight as long as they're proportioned correctly? That means a 100lb Pit could fall within their "standards" just because of proportions? Sounds to me like an excuse to let people do whatever they want and the registry still make some bucks!

Well not exactly, if someone tried to but a huge bully type in the regular ADBA ring they pretty much would not be looked upon fondly by either the other participants or judges. ADBA judges expect to see a dog that is uin shape and can function/move properly.
I have seen bully types in ADBA fun show or doing weight pull though.... For example the whopper dogs do weight pull. Have you ever seen them?
The UKC and ADBA show rings are quite different from one another in some cases.
Bodacious shows in both so I can vouch for that. Thanks for the compliments on her. She is a good girl, but exhausts me. LOL She is happy , happy HAPPY 24/7 . She wakes up in the morning before all my others, bright and early, standing on my hair licking me face.

Snorts just had his weight checked at the vet the other day and he's a solid 42. He was 37 when we got him in November, so I think he'll max out at 45 when he's done filling out. I love his size now. He's still a little pee wee to me, but he's built like a brick sh!t house. I do seem to get lots of compliments when he goes on his Sonic and vet trips! Very proud mom here

I am sick of hearing Rocky does not look like APBT at all. Mostly people will say he is too tall pit bulls have short legs or that his head is not big and blocky with a pushed in snout. To me he meets ADBA standards quite well except his snout is a bit long. I have no clue what could be in the mix with him if anything at all. I have been just telling people he is more on the classic old fashioned type of lines. Seems to shut people up. Anyway last weight he was 65lbs. I have not done his measurements in while but I will be doing it soon to order new harness.

Lady is 60 lbs fit and 21" and I constantly get people telling me they know for a fact that she's a purebred "blue nose pit bull". I tell them to check the UKC standard and get back to me. I call her a mix and always will.

Why do you think she is a mix, because you do not know her history?
